Fire crews dispatched to I-70 Loma fire; motorists being asked to avoid area

LOMA, Colo. (KJCT) -The Lower Valley Fire District (LVFD) is asking motorists to avoid an area on I-70 as they work to extinguish a fire.

At 4:03 p.m. Thursday, LVFD said fire crews were dispatched to a brush fire along I-70 on mile marker 13.

Emergency crews are currently on scene on the fire. Motorists are being encouraged to avoid the area if possible, and to exercise extra caution when traveling through the corridor.

LVFD said motorists should also anticipate traffic delays
