UPDATE (Sunday):

FRUITA, Colo. (KJCT) — The Lower Valley Fire District (LVFD) has released more information on Saturday’s motor vehicle fire that caused a lane disruption on I-70.

LVFD said fire crews, alongside the Fruita Police Department and Colorado Department of Transportation, responded to a pickup truck that caught fire on eastbound I-70 near mile marker 21.

LVFD said an RV was towing the pickup truck when another motorist flagged the RV down and alerted the couple inside that smoke was coming from the truck’s engine bay.

The couple inside the RV were able to safely stop and detach the truck from the RV before it became fully engulfed in flames.

No injuries were reported, and LVFD gave thanks to the Black Crew for quickly extinguishing the fire.
