Wildfire danger is elevated as dry conditions persist and wind increases across Western Colorado late this week.

Cool mornings will gradually become less cool while warm afternoons gradually become a little warmer this week.

Wind gusts up to 25-30 mph are possible Thursday and Friday as a strong storm system tracks over Colorado and begins a transition toward a cooler, Autumn-like weekend.

A few showers are possible on Wednesday, then cooler weather is on track to arrive Friday.

We’re starting our new week with a small chance for a few showers, but as is often the case, most of the showers will be over the higher terrain.
