PALISADE, Colo. (KJCT) Wednesday was national letter of intent signing day and local athletes in the valley all committed to play college athletics either close to home like CMU or out of state to begin their next journey as college athletes.
Cassidy Bittner will run track at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. She started track her freshman with little knowledge of the sport but grew into a talented hurdler and it opened doors for her to go to one of her top choices to run multi's in college.
"This past year, I started doing a lot better and winning a lot of the local meets and competitions especially in the 100 hurdles," said Bittner. "Then I started looking into options where I could run at. I had a lot of coaches who helped me get there. UCCS got back to me and it was a really good school, one of the top ones on my list."
