MONTROSE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Saturday afternoon will be special for Montrose football with a trip to the state championship game on the line.
Montrose has only allowed 14 points per game in the playoffs this season but the high powered offense of Loveland has averaged 37.5 points per game.
Stopping the run game will be the X-factor for Montrose but they will also have home field advantage. There is a chance of snow at kickoff on Saturday and the Indians will have the communities help rallying around the team that has made it so far in the tournament.
"We play well here at home," said head coach Brett Mertens. "I think that the coolest part here for us is it's just cool for our town and our community to be able to host this game. The community support has been awesome. There was a little pep rally and things. It's just really cool for our town and I'm just thrilled to live here."
