HS Boy's Soccer: Fruita gets revenge on Tigers on senior night

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) After losing to Grand Junction, 2-1, earlier in the season, Fruita Monument left the field Wednesday night with a 3-0 shutout win.

Both teams recognized their seniors in front of a packed crowd at Walker Field before the game and at halftime. Fruita held onto possession of the ball for most of the first half. Close to the 30 minute mark in the first half, the Wildcats sent in a cross to a wide open Hadley Bird who tapped it into the net to take a 1-0 lead.

Fruita Monument went into halftime with the lead and added two more goals. The defense was stout all night and goalie Trevin Miller didn't allow a goal all game. The Wildcats will play at Durango on Saturday. Grand Junction will host Montrose next Wednesday.
