HS Boys Basketball: Central aims high for 2018-19 season

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Warrior Challenge Basketball Tournament tips off tomorrow and the host team, Central, will play Horizon Thursday afternoon.

The Warriors are coming off a 9-14 season. Head Coach Josh King and Central has high hopes this season with seven seniors this year.

"With the group we have returning and the kind of kids we have and the work that we have put in, if we aren't challenging to win a Southwestern League title and if we aren't somewhere in the middle of the pack getting into the playoffs, then we have had a shortcoming in our expectations for ourselves," said King.

"We have got to work on communication. Playing defense is super important in games and communicating is the key," said senior Caleb Davis. "Switches, defenses, things like that. We have a lot of new guys and we have got to learn how to play with the flow of the game."
