GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) After giving up two runs in the second inning the Grand Junction Rockies responded to take the lead and win the series final against the Idaho Falls Chukars, 5-3.
Ryan Rolison’s only blemish on the mound was a two-run home run to Chase Vallot.
Rolison went 3.0 innings allowing just two runs and one earned run. He also struck out four hitters.
The Rockies had a three run bottom of the second thanks to an RBI single from Will Golsan and a two-RBI hit from Hunter Stovall.
Reese Berbret and Christopher Navarro added insurance runs in the third and ninth.
Will Tribucher earned the win going 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.
With the series split the Rockies are now 38-30 overall and 18-12 in the second half of the season.
Grand Junction will take the road for four games starting with a two-game series against the Orem Owlz. First pitch is at 6:35 P.M. on Wednesday.
The Rockies will follow that series by taking on the Ogden Raptors who share the top spot with Grand Junction in the second-half standings of the Pioneer League South.
