GJ Rockies: Team bounces back with win

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Grand Junction scored eight runs in the first two innings on their way to a 8-7 win over the Ogden Raptors on Tuesday.

Coco Montes homered in each the first and second innings. It was his fifth and sixth of the season. Montes ended the night 2-4 with three RBI's and two runs scored.

Will Golsan hit a home run as well. Golsan went 2-5 with two RBi's and two runs scored.

The Rockies recorded 13 hits as a team.

Eris Filpo pitched well enough to earn the victory going 5.0 innings allowing five runs on four hits.

Ogden had runners on base in the ninth but failed to score. Alexander Martinez earned his 11th save of the year.

With the win the Rockies impove to 5-2 in the second half of the season and take first place in the Pioneer League South standings.

The series final will be at 6:40 P.M. on Wednesday from Suplizio Field.
