GJ Rockies: Rox drop game one of championship series

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Grand Junction Rockies fell short in game one of the Pioneer League Championship Series to the Great Falls Voyagers, 12-9, on Tuesday.

The Rockies allowed a combined 10 runs in the first two innings.

Eris Filpo lasted 1.1 innings giving up five runs on seven hits in the start.

Great Falls led 10-3 going into the bottom of the third before the Rockies scored five runs capped off by a two-run home run from Niko Decolati.

A Hunter Stovall home run in the sixth inning cut the Voyagers' lead to 10-9.

Great Falls added two more in the seventh off a Ryan Fitzpatrick home run. It was his second of the game.

Game two of the series is 7 P.M. Thursday in Great Falls.
