GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Grand Junction Rockies still don't have a win streak longer than three games after losing 4-3 to the Ogden Raptors on Tuesday night.
Starting pitcher Blair Calvo had a tough time finding the strike zone in the second inning and walked in the first two runs of the game giving the Raptors a 2-0 lead.
GJ didn't light up the scoreboard until the fifth inning when Brenton Doyle hit an RBI single to score Julio Carreras and cut the lead in half. After an Ogden pitching change, with the bases loaded, Walking Cabrera hit a two RBI single to left to give the Rockies the lead.
Ogden would tie it back up in the top of the sixth on a Sauryn Lao single. That score would hold until the ninth inning. Another RBI single by the Raptors puts the Rockies in a 4-3 hole heading into the bottom of the ninth. GJ was able to get the bases loaded with one out. Brenton Doyle grounded into a double play and that would end the game.
Grand Junction drops to 22-20. The Rockies can still get the series win on Wednesday night. They play the final game of the series at 6:40 P.M.
