GJ Rockies: Offensive onslaught leads to 12-2 win

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) After losing two straight, the Grand Junction Rockies turned their woes at the plate around against the Orem Owlz Friday night.

Walters State product Alex Haynes had a near perfect start striking out the side to start the game. He ended up shutting down nine of the eleven batters he faced in three innings of work.

Yolki Pena got the scoring started for the Rockies in the second inning with a solo home run to right field. Grand Junction then scored four runs in the sixth inning when the Owlz committed two errors in the inning and walked in a run. The Rockies end up with 16 hits in a 12-2 win over Orem at home.

Grand Junction will continue the series in Orem on Saturday night.
