GJ Rockies: Junction spoils Rocky Mountain's home debut

Colorado Springs, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) It was the home debut for the Vibes. The new team playing at UCHealth Park. GJ beat Rocky Mountain 13-6 win over the Vibes on Wednesday.

Grand Junction got out to a hot start. After an inside-the-park home run from Julio Carreras, Brenton Doyle hits it off the center field wall for a triple. Next batter is Yolki Pena who grounds out but brings in the run from third and it's 2-0 Rockies.

The Rocky Mountain Vibes weren't feeling the same heat to start. Antonio Pinero grounds into a double play and GJ looking good on offense and defense.

To the third, runner on second, Carreras makes good contact and plops this one in right field giving them a 3-0 lead. They would score two more in the inning.

The Vibes whittled away at the lead as if to create a fire to roast marshmallows on like their little mascot but the Rockies score two insurance runs in the eighth and hold on to win 8-5.
