GJ Rockies: Five is fine! Rockies down Owlz 14-3

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Grand Junction Rockies were coming back home with some confidence after sweeping the Rocky Mountain Vibes on the road over the weekend. GJ had won four straight heading into a five game home stand starting Tuesday night against the Orem Owlz.

Mitchell Kilkenny got the start and had a quick outing going three innings allowing one hit on three strikeouts. Of his 35 pitches thrown, 27 were strikes.

Grand Junction blew the game open in the seventh scoring seven runs in the third including a two run homer from Walking Cabrera and a solo shot by Reese Berberet. Another four runs came in the seventh inning. The Rockies have now won five straight and will play Orem Wednesday night in game two of the series starting at 6:40 P.M.
