GJ Falls to Ogden in Championship Series

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Usually one of these teams comes out scoring in the first inning but tonight was a little different. In fact, it was a pitchers duel.

GJ's Helcris Olivarez went a strong 5 innings. the starter had five strikeouts allowing just two hits. Raptors starter, Elio Serrano also had a strong outing striking out four Rockies and walking two. Both had the back-up of their defense as hits were limited to under five each until the 6th inning.

Olivarez allowed one run in the 6th walking on ball four with bases loaded. Colin Simpson came up with a solo home run of his own to tie the game 1-1. Raptors had a last-minute homer in the 9th to take the lead and the win.

GJ will hit the road to Ogden's house for game two Monday night.
