GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Challenger Baseball held it's 20th anniversary alumni game at Suplizio Field on Saturday.

Challenger graduates and past buddies took the field for a day at the ballpark.

"It's really never been about baseball so it's okay that we've actually had so much joy and we have just barely thrown out the first pitch," said Challenger Baseball Director Carma Borwn. "It's about love and acceptance and that's what everybody is sharing here today."

Former Pensacola State College baseball coach Bill Hamilton and San Jacinto assistant Eric Weaver were team coaches as well.

"Challenger is what Grand Junction is all about, what JUCO is all about," said Weaver. "The love you see from these kids here out on the field, it carries to the banquet, to all the games and just the city of Grand Junction, how they welcome the Challenger event, it's an honor and it's just a life-changing experience."
