CMU basktetball: Mavs roll through Chadron State, Regis University
Colorado Mesa men's and women's basketball teams sweep Chadron State and Regis University at home over the weekend.
The men defeated the Eagles 88-66 on Friday night and the Rangers 86-83. The women took down the Lady Eagles 73-62 on Friday and the Lady Rangers 70-60 on Saturday.
With just one game left in the regular season, both wins for each of these teams was critical to move them up in both the RMAC tournament and NCAA regional standings.
On the men's side, senior Ryan Stephan made history on Saturday evening, scoring a career high 45 points and his 2000th career point at Colorado Mesa. Stephan joins Jon Baskin (2,227 points) and Paul Cain (2,035 points) as the only three players in CMU school history to score over 2,000 points.
Both teams are set to play their last home game on Friday against Westminster.
