GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) After this weekend's sweep of two conference opponents, the win streak has grown to seven games including two shutout wins and a big overtime comeback win over Findlay in Ohio.
The last five games on the road have seen their fair share of adverse situations but the determination and the attention to detail the team puts in practice has been proven to work on the field and the Mavericks are reaping the reward.
"Especially after spring break, our chemistry is so much better and we have so much fun," said junior attacker Mary Koch. "We are celebrating way more on the field. You play so much better when you are having fun and I think that is what really helps us. We are just having fun out there."
(shanta loecker) "It was really, really just confidence building for me as a coach to see them execute what we have been practicing in those games in Ohio," said head coach Shanta Loecker. "Coming back from a four goal deficit at Findley and winning in overtime, I think that's huge for us just as far as seeing how well they function under pressure."
