CMU Women's Basketball: Sydni Brandon RMAC's Defensive POTW

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU women's basketball just keeps winning. After another weekend sweep on the road, the Mavericks have now won 13 in a row and have moved up to 20th in the coaches poll.

This past weekend, junior Sydni Brandon had one of her most productive games as a Maverick.

Sydni Brandon was named the RMAC's Defensive Player of the Week. It's the first time that she has been recognized by the conference and she's the second CMU player to get a player of the week award from the conference.

The point guard averaged 11 points per game with a career high 15 points in the win over Adams State. On the defensive side of the ball, Brandon had seven steals and two blocks. She leads the team in steals with 34.

This weekend, Brandon and the Mavericks will be tested at home against Dixie State and Westminster, the only other undefeated team in the RMAC.
