CMU Volleyball: Mavs optimistic about weekend match ups

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The lone conference loss for the Mavericks is to Dixie State earlier in the season. In the final home weekend of the season, CMU hopes to get revenge on the Trailblazers.

“They got us first time around at their place so we're really looking forward to that match,” said head coach Dave Fleming. “It's a good match up. They are a big, physical team similar to us."

CMU has won six in a row and 13 of the last 14 matches. The momentum is on the Mavericks side as they head into parent's weekend.

“We are definitely capable of beating them,” Kasie Gilfert said. “I think now we have that confidence that maybe we didn't have the first time we played them. Now that we have that, we're using that in practice to know, like, okay we know we need to work on these things. That's how we are going to be successful."
