GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) After the Intermountain Shootout last week, the Mavericks swim and dive team picked up right where they left off last year and that's racking up conference honors.
Noah Macomber and Brittany Dixon earned conference divers of the week. The two seniors put on a big time performance to start the year. Macomber beat out five Division I divers in the one-meter dive and four Division I divers in the three-meter. Dixon put up a NCAA qualifying score of 255.9 on the one-meter.
CMU got the clean sweep as two swimmers collected the conference honors as well. Torsten Rau earned the honor three times last year and he won the 500 free event and set several conference leading times. Davy Brown, a freshman, already set a great time in the 400 yard IM of 4:38, good enough to move into the 9th spot in CMU history for the event. The Mavericks will compete on Saturday at the dual in Denver against the Division I Pioneers.
