Grand Junction, COLO. (KKCO/KJCT) It was round two of CMU Softball's doubleheader today against Dixie State. It rained off and on but not enough to cancel the game.
In their first game, the Mavs took a win 12-0 following the mercy rule after five innings. Kimbri Herring had eight strikeouts in her five innings pitched. Mavericks hit five homers in the doubleheader on Sunday.
After today, the Mavs remain at 7-1 in the league. They are just a half-game behind UCCS for the RMAC lead.
Their next game will be next weekend in another back to back doubleheader against the School of Mines.
