GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) An unforgettable year for CMU softball first base AnnMarie Torres has now been recognized by Fastpitch News as the junior was listed to the All-American First Team. This adds to her plethora of honors she has received this season.
The RMAC Player of the Year led the conference with a .458 batting average and 68 RBI, which was third most in Division II. Defensively, Torres only had two errors on 285 total chances and she helped the Mavericks to a 45-11 record, good for a fourth straight RMAC regular season title.
The First Team All-American was also named to the First Team All-South Central region in May.
