CMU Softball: Mav's nab National player honors, RMAC honors

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU softball making more waves this week. Catcher, Kaila Jacobi has been named NCAA National Player of the week by Fast Pitch News. Jacobi hit over .500 over the weekend with 12 RBI. The senior hit two grand slams and two home runs on Saturday scoring six runs of her own with a .571 on base percentage.

Sophmore Alexa Samuels, who was a National Player of the Week last week, was honored this week with RMAC Player of the Week. She racked up 11 RBI and nine runs of her own this past weekend. The sophomore went 8-13 with two doubles, a triple and three home runs.

CMU outscored Black Hills State this weekend 54-6 in just 20 innings. The pair have helped the Mavericks to a 12 game win streak and they will travel to Chadron State this weekend.
