CMU Men's Basketball: The rigors of road games are surmountable

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU men's basketball split the two games this weekend on the road and will end it's two week road trip this weekend as they take on Adams State and Fort Lewis.

The Mavericks are now fifth in the RMAC and with their win against CSU Pueblo. CMU got their 11th win of the season tying the win total for all of last season.

While the Mavericks have been nearly unstoppable at home going 5-1, on the road is a different story at 3-3 this year and the most accurate team in the conference will look to buck that trend this weekend.

"It's hard to recreate the same energy on the road as you have at home," said head coach Mike DeGeorge. "It really becomes having a grind it out mentality and really relying on your defense knowing the other team is going to make runs."

"It's not going to be every weekend so it's hard for everyone to win on the road," said senior guard Sam Walters. "It's not just if you are the last place team in this league or the best team in this league, it's hard on everyone."
