CMU Men's Basketball: Nuno becomes new scoring threat for Mavericks

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Fresno Community College transfer Tommy Nuno had his best game in the maroon and gold with 21 points and eight rebounds in the 97-90 win over Western State.

It has taken him a few games to start scoring the way head coach Mike DeGeorge saw when he recruited the guard, but it couldn't have come at a better time as RMAC play begins.

"He just is an alpha dog. He just is a great leader and he's got a toughness about him," said DeGeorge. "He does everything at an elite level. Quite frankly, we felt like his first four games he just had bad luck and got in some foul trouble. He's really kind of finding his comfort level with how the game is officiated here. These last two games have been more of what we are going to see all year then maybe his first few."
