CMU Men's Basketball: Mavericks ready for 2019 charge

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU finished 2018 fourth in the RMAC with their last game coming on December 16, a win at Chadron State.

The team has been working since December 27 to stay in shape and prepare for the rest of the grueling RMAC schedule.

With a little more than half the schedule still in front of them the Mavericks are ready to charge in the new year.

"This is the time where everything to this point has been building to this," said head coach Mike DeGeorge. "Now we have to execute at a high level. Every night is a big challenge in this league and you have to have your best effort and you have to execute at a high level. We have a veteran group and I think they will respond well."

"We want to go for the conference title obviously, that's our goal," said junior guard Tommy Nuno. "We still have a lot of things to work on and we are 3-2 in league right now so we have some things to work on. We've just got to be ready for it like grind through the week, get ready for those games and then push through."
