GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU Lacrosse represents the best of the RMAC on the defensive side this week with a player from the men's and women's team earning the honor.
Senior Olivia Hayden had 12 ground balls and forced seven turnovers and was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week. She also got it done offensively with seven goals and three assists. Hayden had a hat trick and five total points in both of the wins.
On the men's side, the Mavericks lost to Rollins College but Michael Marino had a season best performance winning 17-24 face offs in the game to be named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week. The mark is the sixth most in program history. He also grabbed four ground balls. The men will play at University of Tampa on Wednesday.
