GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Colorado Mesa football is two weeks away from kicking off their 2018 season and on Saturday hosted an inter-squad scrimmage.
It was the second scrimmage of the season for CMU. Starting quarterback Eystin Salum only played three drives before head coach Russ Martin saw all he needed too.
The Mavs will open up their season on September 1st against South Dakota Mines and next week it will be all about preparing for the opener.
"Next week we are going to tax them. We need to make sure they are in game shape and game ready. It is going to be time to sharpen things up,"said Martin.
