GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU football will get a real-game simulation on Wednesday when they hold an intersquad scrimmage at Stocker Stadium.
The game will feature mostly the first and second teams.
It's always a fun day when you get to scrimmage and strap up the pads and get a little contact in there," said quarterback Eystin Salum. "Tomorrow will be fun. It's another day for us to sharpen each other and get after one another for probably the last time."
Head coach Russ Martin says they will play for about an hour and a half.
"I think sometimes just being in the actual stadium itself kind of picks up the energy level," said Martin. "That's kind of what we want them to get to do. That way, a week from Saturday, we're ready to roll."
CMU opens the season at 1 P.M. on September 1st against South Dakota Mines.
