GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU football held its intersquad scrimmage at Stocker Stadium on Wednesday.
It was the most game-like scrimmage the Mavs have had all camp.
"We're the one sport that doesn't get the chance to do any scrimmages," said head coach Russ Martin. "We don't get to practice against anybody else. It's only against yourself. You don't really get the same intensity. You've got to get those mistakes out before you hit that first game. But the good thing is we got guys that understand exactly what we're doing."
The game featured mainly the first and second string guys.
"We got to hit the film tomorrow," said senior wide receiver Corbin Covey. "Just point out every little detail. It's the little things like that makes us better. If we can correct those and move on from there I think we'll be fine."
This was the last scrimmage the Mavs have until they open the season on September 1 at home against South Dakota Mines.
