It was a rough Saturday night for CMU basketball at Brownson arena.
The women's team held an 11 point lead at halftime break before getting outscored 21-9 in the 4th quarter on their way to their third loss on the year 69-65.
Erin Reichle led the Mavs in scoring with 17 points on (7-19) shooting. The free throw lines to continues to be a problem as CMU shot just 6-10 while Metro State had 25 attempts from the line.
At one point in the first half the men's team led by as many as 16 points before the Roadrunners trimmed it to just eight points at the half.
CMU couldn't overcome a late Metro State run in the 2nd half as the Mavs fell to 6-7 over the with 81-76 loss to the Roadrunners. Brandon Hoffer paced 5 different Mavericks in double figures with 17 points on 7-9 shooting.
Both the men and women's teams will be off until the 5th when they travel to Chadron, NE to take on the Chadron State Eagles.
