Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) "It was always a little dream in my head to play for the GJ Rockies. Here I am, 24-years old about to take on my first pro-season in front of my hometown crowd so it's pretty special," says Owen Taylor.
After graduating from the University of Kansas last year, it seemed like the door on Owen Taylor's baseball career was closing.
"Mentally, it was the most difficult. And finally, I just had a spark in my heart that kind of drove me to continue pursuing the game and doing what I love every day."
That spark led him back home to Grand Junction. Taylor was batting over 300 in the first half of the season but like any other player, he had his peaks and valleys.
"I've just been trying to develop myself and get better. My expectation for myself every day is to come out and play as hard as I can, that's all I can do," says Taylor.
