GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) Jed has been racing for two years after he went with his parents Katie and Jimmy, to watch a Spartan race.
In order to compete in the World Championships, you have to qualify. Jed placed first at the Spartan Snowmass and came in second at Fort Carson which earned him an automatic bid to the championships. Jed raced two miles and placed first in his age group with a time of 27:51.
"Really proud. You just beam, you beam for your son. you beam for watching all the hard work that he's put in," says Jed's dad, Jimmy Kleager.
Jed's mother, Katie helps him train for the running portion while his father helps with Crossfit. In addition to running twice a week, Jed works out at Ridgeline Fitness three times a week and at Legacy Academy Gymnastics & Ninja the other two.
Jed's next goal is to compete in the American Ninja Warrior Junior competition. In the meantime, Jed will train to compete in the Super & Sprint Weekend race in March in Las Vegas.
