Athlete of the Week: Hannah Croasdell

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Hannah has just one year under her belt as a Maverick but that was just enough to leave a good impression on the new head coach, Mickey Wedner, calling her a leader.

"I want them to trust me the way I would trust them with anything I tell them. Which is really important on a team. You have to trust each other and rely on each other."

The Colorado native placed fourth at the West Regional Championships with a time of 1:10:9.7. She now qualifies for the National Championships in November but the road to these accolades isn't easy.

"I was never a runner. That was the part that I had to work really really hard to get better at because I was never a runner when I started. Getting your mind right for it is one of the biggest things because mentally it's really draining. Hyping yourself up to do it."

Hannah strives to earn All-American for the second time but wants to walk away after four years with just a little bit more than titles.

"I just want to race well and have a good time. I want to look back at my time at CMU and remember my team and all the good memories because I want to take away more than just training from the sport," says Hannah Croasdell.
