Connor Nichols came to Colorado Mesa as an All-District player out of Arizona and now he is leading the charge for CMU Men's basketball.
He is this weeks athlete of the week.
Through 13 games in the regular season the junior is averaging 17 points a game and over seven rebounds, but it would not have been possible without his teammates.
For the first two years I kind of started to figure out the league and stuff like that. Then this year I have a lot of experience especially with the junior college guys coming in,” said Nichols.
Connor has led the Mavericks to a 6-7 overall record through the first half of the season in the RMAC, even though he has fouled out in 5 of those games.
"He is the kind of player we always thought he would be, taking that role. He carries a heavy load for us scoring and defensively,” said head coach Andy Shantz.
CMU Men's basketball will be off until Friday when they hit the road to take on Chadron State at 7:30 P.M.
