GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Central softball has been Southwestern League champs four years in a row.
"Once you get a taste for it you want it," said head coach Scott Else. "You want to go to a regional, you want to win league, you're expected to win league."
The Warriors have seven seniors on the team. Aislyn Sharp, Jaeda Garcia, Ashleigh Satterfield, Kelty Key, Sierra Dunham, Sophia Higgins, and Trinity Santiago make up the group of veteran Warriors.
Some of them have been playing together since little league.
"It's just seeing us all grow up together, how much our skills have improved from when we were like eight until now when we're almost 18, almost ten years of playing together," said Key.
The senior class has accomplished a lot. However, they are missing a state title.
"A lot of them have been starters for years now," said Else."We have the experience, we have the talent. I think they can give it a shot this year."
According to MaxPreps the Warriors are ranked No. 23 in the state.
"I know I'm more motivated to go far since it's my senior year," said Satterfield. " I don't want to fall short as a senior I think it'd be cool to go all the way."
Central is 9-4 with a 2-0 league record this season.
