Search continues for missing Chaffee County woman

SALIDA, Colo. (KJCT) -- Investigators are still looking for 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew of Chaffee County after she went missing following a bike ride on May 10.

Originally, the Chaffee Sheriff's Office says that investigators were able to locate a potential personal item of Morphew's just west of County Road 225 and West Highway 50. Investigators have not released what that item was.

On the evening of May 10, a neighbor of Morphew alerted authorities after she never returned home after her bike ride near County Road 225 and West Highway 50 in Chaffee County.

The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office responded to the area around 5:45 p.m. that evening. Chaffee County Search and Rescue South and North began a search immediately.

Investigators from the 11th Judicial District, Colorado Bureau of Investigations, the Salida Police Department, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations have since joined the effort.
