Western Colorado Boy Scouts merge with Denver Boy Scouts division
Opportunities for local Boy Scouts are growing as the Western Slope merges with the Front Range.
The Western Colorado Boy Scouts' council is merging with the Denver Area Council. This change will allow for more financial support and extra programs for Boy Scouts on the Western Slope.
"The Denver Council is excited to be able to expand our services to the Western Slope and we are excited to, hopefully, increase the number of youth participating in scouting all over Colorado," said Robert Nakagawa, Department Scout Executive for Denver Area Council.
The new area council will now serve 24 counties, which includes more than 34,000 kids.
