GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The crowd nearly spilled out on to 28 Road Thursday for the opening of the Western Region One Source facility for veterans in Grand Junction.

The president of the student veterans association at Colorado Mesa University was one of the speakers at the official opening, along with Adjutant General of Colorado, and folks from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The facility was finished under budget and ahead of schedule in a building that used to be a Colorado National Guard armory at 482 28 Road, between the business loop and North Avenue.

Governor Jared Polis was scheduled to be at the ribbon cutting, but wasn’t able to attend.
