For the second year, United Way of Mesa County is collecting books.
You might have seen big, white, cardboard boxes around town. They're set up so people can donate children's and young adult books all April. The books will be given away at the Mesa Mall on May 19.
"I really like this initiative because it's easy for everybody in the community to get involved,” said Julie Hinkson, Executive Director, United Way of Mesa County. “This is a good time to do your spring cleaning, and if you find you have extra books, here's what to do with them!"
They're asking for new or gently used books of all genres. Last year, they collected 3,000 books.
Books can be donated in the boxes at the following locations:
Alpine Bank branches
American Furniture Warehouse
Bank of the San Juans branches
Caprock Academy
CommWest
Enstrom Candies locations
HopeWest
Mesa Co. Depart. of Human Services
Rocky Mountain Health Plans
