GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- United Way of Mesa County celebrated their 60th anniversary today over brunch.
The non-profit organization hosted the event at CMU where they were joined by 200 guests including guest speaker Karen Rinedollar. At the event she talked about making a difference in the community.
United Way provides funding for 40 local, non-profit programs where their main focus is health, education and self reliance.
"Today we're thanking the thousands of people... truly thousands of people, who have donated, or volunteered or sponsored events over the years...and the many lives that have been changed," said Executive Director Julie Hinkson.
All of the proceeds from the event will go to local schools and youth programs.
