GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The annual Palisade Peach Festival was held on Aug. 17, and there was a long list of activities for those who made the trip.
Officials at the festival say this year, long lines exceeded what they have been in past years.
Each year around 15,000 people from all over the world and show up to the event, and officials were actually hoping to surpass that this year.
Festival-goers were met with vendors, food trucks, peach eating contests, farm tours, and live music. There was even a race for peaches held this morning.
"You know it's been going for years and years. And it started out super small and it's just growing and growing and I think what everybody should know is that Palisade is here, and it's growing and it's just going to keep growing and we're going to keep on showing people that Palisade should be on the map and people should know about us,” says Palisade Chamber of Commerce David Nelson.
The Palisade Farmers Market will be going on through Aug. 18 during the last day of the peach festival. For more information visit, palisadepeachfest.com.
