CMU baseball team is World Series bound

SAN ANGELO, TX (KJCT) -- The Colorado Mesa University baseball team is headed to the NCAA Division II World Series.

The Mavs defeated Arkansas Fort Smith 8 – 1 in the regional final to advance to the big tournament.

The World Series starts this weekend and runs through June 3 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Colorado Mesa will face the Midwest Region winner, which will either be Quincy or Northwood on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. (CDT).

This will be the Mavs third appearance in the Division II World Series. They finished as runner-up in 2014.
