GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT News)-- New surveillance footage shows three suspects breaking into two cars.

It happened in a Fruitvale neighborhood off of F and F ½ road. A viewer sent in footage captured by surveillance cameras showing the suspects rummaging through two cars and walking off with multiple items. The viewer said it occurred in the early hours of the morning. He reported it to Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

"Keep your porch lights on, keep your street lights on. Make sure you call about the street lights, make sure they are lit. Lock your cars and lock your tool boxes," says neighborhood resident, Michael Lara.

This past weekend Mesa County Sheriff's Office received four reports of car break-ins within one neighborhood. All of the reported vehicles had unlocked doors. Mesa County Sheriff's Office wants to remind people to lock up cars at night and to not leave valuables in sight.
