Learning how to save money, spend wisely and invest. These are just some of the topics covered at a District 51 event Thursday night.
The student business program at Grand Junction High School had a free financial literacy night. These financially savvy teens shared their expertise with other students, teachers and parents.
In fact, the business program at the high school is a nationally recognized curriculum, so these students know what they're talking about.
“The kids love this. I’ve had students tell me they come for just our classes, because they are real world. There’s nothing better for our students than when they learn something and then can apply it to the real world,” said Cindy Ficklin, business teacher, Grand Junction High School.
The students schooled people on other topics like credit score, mortgages and how to buy a house.
