Strong economy helps real estate values

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The trend continues: The real estate market is still looking good, according to the November Bray Report.

Not only are more houses being sold, but the average price of homes has gone up 8%, and currently sits at $235,000.

Houses are also on the market for a shorter amount of time.

The report also showed this year, building permits are at the highest they have been since 2008, and more people are looking to move.

“With local jobs, there are some wages that are starting to increase, so that’s going to allow people to move up, and move into other homes, so basically, its freeing people up to move into that next home," said Head of the Development Division, Kevin Bray.

As of now, there are just over 700 active residential listings in Mesa County.
