At 90 years old, Jim Nelson isn't letting old age slow him down. For his birthday, he wanted to do something adventurous, skydiving.

His home, Solstice Senior Living in Grand Junction, offers programs to keep seniors active in the community.

Similar to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, his adventure was paid for by the senior home. Jim was inspired by President George Bush Senior, who also jumped out of a plane at 90. In fact, he was so energized, he played 18 holes right after.

"Our Vibrant Life Programming helps facilitate fulfilling those goals and dreams that folks have never had an opportunity to do,” said Executive Director of Solstice Senior Living, Scott Saunders.

Jim says he is glad that it's off the bucket list though his skydiving trip was just a one-time thing. For his next adventure, he hopes to hike the Crag Crest Trail on the Grand Mesa.
