GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT News)-- If you have a passion for riding your Vespa, you might want to tag along with this group.

Thursday kicked off the seventh annual Scooter Rally. Scooter lovers from all over Colorado and out of state made their way to Grand Junction to celebrate scootering. The three-day rally theme is "Beat the Heat”. Scooter riders hope to promote it as an alternative form of transportation, and to share their love of scootering.

"You smell what you go by, you see the unobstructed view. When you go to make a turn in a car, you're fighting it. When you're on a bike, you are one with the bike. It's just a totally different experience, an enjoyable experience," says organizer, Scott Payne.

'Scooterists' plan to ride around Black Canyon and The Mesa.
