GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- Giving thanks and serving others on Thanksgiving Day...that’s what people at Elks Lodge are doing.
Every year the Salvation Army shares a meal with those in need--filling their plates with foods like turkey, stuffing and potatoes.
"It's so important because it's so many people out there, that are displaced, or have lost contact with their family for one reason or another. So it's a great opportunity for us to come together and serve them, and they can be like family for us this year.” says Salvation Army Capt. Joe West.
With over 700 people sitting down for a meal, some hope that no one in the Grand Valley goes hungry this holiday.
